Twitter Tuesday on BlogTalkRadio.com - "Using Twitter as a Job Search Tool" - Join Us Tomorrow!

In case you don't normally read my blog, or perhaps you have crawled under a rock for the last several months  (and who could blame you?), Ken Cook and I have been hosting a one-hour show called Twitter Tuesday every week at 11am Central (noon Eastern, 10am Mountain, 9am Pacific) on BlogTalkRadio.

We have a guest or two each time, and we talk about various social media topics and using them to grow your business.

Sometimes, we just riff on each other and use funny sound effects and music to make each other laugh.  It pretty much depends on our mood.

We averaged 231 listeners per show for February, making us one of the top social networking shows for online radio!

This week's guest will be Cathy Browne (she's @cathybrowne on Twitter).  One of the topics we will be discussing is how she has used Twitter as a job search tool.

Cathy is a high tech public relations expert with 20+ years experience in semiconductors, intellectual property, telecommunications, networking, wireless and hardware.  She is passionate about work, wine, cats, family, friends, politics, belly dancing and Twitter. She describes herself as a "wannabe Californian trapped in a Canuck body".

"Twitter Tuesday" - Jason Crouch & Ken Cook on BlogTalkRadio.com - Join Us!

In case you didn't already know, Ken Cook and I have been hosting a one-hour show called Twitter Tuesday every week at 11am Central (noon Eastern, 9am Pacific) on BlogTalkRadio.  We have a guest or two each time, and we talk about various social media topics and using them to grow your business.  Sometimes, we just riff on each other and use funny sound effects and music to make each other laugh.  It pretty much depends on our mood.

We were excited to set a new "live" listener record last week, with 87 people during the hour.  That show had 181 listeners total (includes the archive).  We are averaging 159 listeners per show for 2009, which is great.  I think tomorrow we will shatter our record once again.  Even more importantly, I see the same people returning after hearing the show a time or two, which is perhaps the best gauge of all.

This week, our guest will be Rick Abbott, who has over 19,000 followers on Twitter!  He is ranked #12 on Twinfluence, with a "reach" of over 12,000,000 now.  His new site, www.thedigitallife.net, is "technology for the non-geek".

Come take a listen tomorrow! BlogTalkRadio.com - "Twitter Tuesday"

In case you haven't already seen my posts about this over the past couple of weeks, I have been hosting a talk radio show with Ken Cook every Tuesday at 11am Central time for one hour (noon Eastern, 10am Mountain, 9am Pacific).  We used to do it asbout an hour and a half earlier, but we moved it to the later slot and expanded from a half hour show in order to accommodate our guests and listeners, too.

Despite head-to-head competition with the inauguration last week, we ended up with 41 live listeners and 115 overall (archive included), which is terrific for a newer show like ours.

Tomorrow's show should be a lot of fun as always, and informative, too!  We have a handful of social media issues to discuss first, along with a terrific guest for the second half of the show:  Tamara Dorris!  Tamara and I have become fast friends over the past couple of months, and I am actually slated to be on HER show Wednesday at 1pm Central.

If you would like to join us, visit http://blogtalkradio.com/jckc

We also generally have a pretty active chat room while we're "live".  Feel free to call in with questions, or just to give us a hard time.  We enjoy the challenge, or at least we can pretend to!

If you aren't able to make it during the allotted time, you can listen to any/all of our shows via the archive recordings at your leisure (same URL as above).

About Tamara Dorris

Tamara holds a master's degree in Communications, a bachelor's degree in psychology, and is a certified hypnotherapist and Feng Shui consultant. An expert in human behavior, communications, and marketing, Dorris combines her coaching and real estate background to specifically support real estate agents with mind-set to help them build better businesses.

She has appeared on dozens of local television and national radio shows, and been quoted as a personal development expert in national magazines like Seventeen, Weight Watchers, and Woman's Day. Ms. Dorris is a professor of real estate practices, principles, finance and property management and published author of personal development and real estate books.

Tamara Dorris is the owner of Top Producing Techniques (www.topprotech.com), an agent and broker training and coaching community and is also an active agent in Sacramento, CA.

As you can see, Tamara should be both entertaining and educational as a guest.  I hope you can listen tomorrow!

P.S. Last week, we started using Facebook to invite friends and contacts to listen in, and that has proven to be very effective.  At the moment, we have 34 solid attendees and 86 "maybes"!  Feel free to check out the Facebook event page if you like.

I am co-hosting a show on BlogTalkRadio now!

I wanted to get a few shows under my belt before sharing this with all of my ActiveRain friends.  Ken Cook and I have been hosting a weekly show on BlogTalkRadio on Tuesday mornings for the past few weeks.

The show's basic surface theme is about social media, real estate, and mortgages, although we are both pretty goofy and seem to enjoy sound effects, so it often devolves into a "morning zoo" type of atmosphere, as it did yesterday morning.

The "live" show is from 11am to noon Central time (12pm-1pm Eastern), and the recordings are available in the archive for listening at any time.  It was originally 30 minutes, but we expanded to a full hour after realizing how quickly time went by.

Yesterday was our first hour-long show and it was utterly unscripted (perhaps a little too unscripted, but it was fun!).  We might decide to do a little more planning, but the free-form nature of it is exciting and challenging, too.  We have also had some audio and technical issues to deal with via the platform - that is another layer that tests our ability to keep things rolling along smoothly.

To listen, visit: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/jckc

BRIEF WARNING: This last show had audio problems for the first three or four minutes, and twice briefly during the broadcast.  Just keep listening and it gets better!  I welcome your feedback, but keep in mind that I have only attempted this four times so far, so be gentle.  :-)

If you have any interest, there are also three previous shows that we did together on Ken's page here: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/KenCook

If you have any interest in joining us as a guest, we would love to have you on sometime.  In upcoming weeks, we have a handful of guests scheduled, including the CEO of a real estate investment site, a couple of authors, and a smattering of social media consultants.

Frankly, I would be happy to have anyone on with us who is interested, because we want to help promote YOUR business along with our own.

If you had asked me at the beginning of 2008 if I wanted to host an internet radio show, I probably would have balked at the chance, but I realized that this is one more opportunity to learn a brand-new skill and make more contacts along the way.  Why the heck not?

So far, our record for a live audience is around 20 or so with a couple of callers, but we have about 10 times that number listening to the archive.  I would love to shatter both numbers early in the year.  Come join us if you like!
