Over the past 15 months or so, my family and I have been helping to start a new church in Georgetown, Texas. I am happy to announce that we are having our "official" grand opening for Christ Presbyterian Church this Sunday, October 11th.
We recently started meeting at the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce building, which is essentially brand-new. It's located at 100 Stadium Drive, along Austin Avenue, just north of Williams Drive. It's right across from the Georgetown Rec Center.
We would love to have you join us sometime - we are a very friendly bunch! Currently, we have a regular attendance of just over 50 people (about 20 families).
If you are curious about what we believe, or you want to learn a bit more about us, check out our website at http://cpcgeorgetown.org.
Our Sunday morning services run from 10am until about 11:20 or so, and we have refreshments afterwards. There is childcare provided through age five, and we are starting a "children's church" portion that will cover kids up through fourth or fifth grade in November. The kids will leave the service during the sermon, then come back near the end. We have communion every week at the very end of the service.
Pastor Whit Anderson brings challenging, timely and biblical messages each week.
If you live in Georgetown, north Austin, Round Rock, Pflugerville, Cedar Park, Leander, Liberty Hill, or Jarrell, it's pretty easy to find us. I hope to meet you sometime soon!

Congratulations to your church, Jason! We just started attending a Presb. church in February. It is ARP (Assoc. Reformed Presb.). We meet in a private school building...but are looking forward to purchasing land and eventually building. The size is simialar to your congregation. Feels like family and the Word is preached. Love it!!
Jason: It's always exciting to see folks doing the lord's work and even more exciting to see an expansion of a church.
Congratulations. As everyone has said above, what a great and amazing way to reach out to the community and world. Best wishes, keep up the great work. You're touching so many people. God Bless,
Kim
Jason, congratulations. I remember my mother and all 11 children going to find a church when we moved to Bluewell, WV. Mom would always find a new church and our family made up most of the congregation. Mom finally decided on the Methodist Church. She dedicated so much to this church. After my Dad became a Christian, the Methodist Church was his church as well. It is really important to find a church that fits ... and this one sounds great. I went to the website and liked what I read. God Bless,
Congratulations on the official grand opening of your new church, Jason! Until now, I never met anyone who started a new church, this is very exciting.
Congrats on your church's grand opening - if you've got a good choir, maybe you can get them to record some opening music for the JCKC show!
I like that you promote your church on your blog. It lets people know that not only are you a Christian, but you don't care who knows! =D
Lisa - It's interesting that you say that - I just had this talk with my pastor today. Believe it or not, several of the families that are now attending found my blog first and decided to visit! Powerful stuff.
And I know who the commander in chief of the welcoming committee is too! Congrats for getting to this point--you've all worked so hard and I know you're excited about 10/11! Take lots of photos for us and share the wonderful news on Sunday!
Have fun....tear it up....bring down the house! Good stuff J....
This is exciting and I know it will be a special day. Looking forward to hearing about!
