Halloween at the Crouch House

Yes, I realize that it's been a week and a half since Halloween.

Sorry it took me so long to get around to sharing the picture below.  My son was dressed as Mario, and my oldest daughter is a mermaid.  Our three-year old is Sleeping Beauty, and our 6-month old (seven months old today!) is dressed as some sort of flower fairy. I am dressed as a real estate broker.  Clever, huh?

Couple of highlights:

  • We went to see my wife's grandmother in the assisted living place, and the people there thought that my son was dressed as a train conductor: "Hey, train man!"  Needless to say, he didn't know they were talking to him.
  • The older kids' stamina seems to get a bit longer each year, although now we have to balance that will two smaller kids, which means our new double stroller is a must.
  • My three-year old daughter got a huge haul of candy, largely by lingering near the door while multiple rounds of kids approached and left.  We didn't figure this out until later, but I think she got several "doses" at some doors.  :)
  • Every Halloween since 2003, I am reminded of when my oldest daughter first went trick or treating - she caught on very quickly, and her catch phrase was simple and to the point: "Gimme.....candy."

I think next year, I may dress up again, since I will be 40 then and I will have even less shame than now.

Endurance by my son has definitely grown over the past couple of years as well. Nonetheless, he actually enjoys handing out the candy more than getting it. Let's see how long that lasts. LOL

Jason, it is so fun to see your family and vicariously enjoy the holiday with you.  Enjoy every minute while they are little!  As far as the Real Estate Broker costume ----- it could use something!! LOL !!

love this picture, looking forward to next years costume.  So next year with less shame and being 40 are you going to race the kids to the front door step and who gets to ring the door bell?  Just curious ;)  Love this, hope you all had fun.

lol (just for you) Kids are adorable - how could they not be :-) And you had a 3rd princess to add to the bunch this year!  As for feelin' shame?  that's the good thing about getting older........or is it?

How cute is that!  the best thing about turning 50 was that I can get away with anything and write it off as being eccentric!

Hi Jason. I am so liking the picture. This year 55 kids stopped by my house to trick or treat. It is one of my favorite times of the year because of the children. ~ Lana

Sounds like the kids had a great time.  I enjoyed seeing my grandkids dressed in their costumes this year as well.  They went to the mall and had a blast.

Jason - some sort of flower fairy! You should at least know what type or else the costume might not be accurate! It poured here so we got very few trick or treaters.

John - That's funny.  I hadn't noticed the halo effect there.  That is the window in our front door.  :)

Larry - Right you are.  I meant to say blogger.  :)

It's never too late to share photos of your kids dressed up. Even though the residents at the Assisted Living Center didn't know who Mario was, I'm sure they were thrilled to see them all. They all look great in their costumes...even the RE Agent. Maybe next year you can all be a Super Hero Family?

Nice disguise as a real estate broker...cute photo! I have three boys, 10, 11 and 14 and they are into creepy gory stuff that doesn't make such cute photos!

Cute kids; Halloween is such a blast with kids, and big kids. My son gets so mad when I attack his candy.

Those are absolutely precious photos with the costumes Jason. At our door this year were quite a few skeletons by the boys and Supergirls by the little girls. Tons of candy distributed too. A great family you have there Mr. Crouch!!

Everyone looks adorable!

But that Realtor costume is really kind of scary!!!

Great pics!! I love the "train man"  that is great. Clearly shows the generation "gap" - some kids barely know what a train is save Thomas the Engine!

Jason, They are precious, but you know that. I love all the costumes; someone went to a lot of work especially the Mario costume.  Did your wife make them?

Our son was always an Army guy year after year.  Next thing I knew he was in the Army for real.
