I have seen so many Christmas posts and Christmas emails this week that I figured I should throw my hat in the ring as well. :)
But seriously, I wanted to take a minute to wish each of you a terrific and Merry Christmas. I also hope you have a happy, safe, and healthy 2010.
Over the past day or so, I have been praying for a friend of mine whose two small grandchildren (ages 4 and 14 months) were badly injured in a car accident on December 19th, and they're still in the hospital tonight, rather than enjoying Christmas Eve at home. This is the kind of thing that puts my life (and any complaints I might have) in perspective very quickly. It made me hug my wife and kids even tighter this week. I didn't write this to bum you out, but rather to ask for your prayers, too, if you have some time to do this. I guess I feel like part of the spirit of the season is helping others.
I am so thankful for the blessings I have in my life, and if you're reading this, YOU are among them.
May God bless you and I hope the upcoming year brings you success both personally and professionally. As always, thanks so much for taking the time to read my thoughts here.

Jason, Merry Christmas! I have just said a prayer for your friends grandchildren. We just don't know what tomorrow brings do we? My sister's best friend accidently ran over a 3 year old in a Walmart parking lot this last weekend. She is not being charged as the little boy was weaving in and out of cars but she has been devastated by the event. He is living but has a lot of health issues from it.
Marchel - Thanks for your prayers. I'm sorry to hear about your friend, too. I will pray for everyone involved - as you mentioned, we really don't know what tomorrow will bring.
Jason
Hope you and your wonderful family have a terrific and joyful Christmas. Will say a prayer also.
I hope they pull through and end up ok. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Only one Christmas post? Psshh. I dedicated the entire month to Christmas posts =P
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Jason ~ Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
~~~~~Prayers will be sent for your friends~~~~~
Merry Christmas Jason to your entire family. I've seen your snippits about your friend and his grandchildren on fb and they are certainly in my prayers.
Realizing others are worse off that us on any day can really put things in to perspective real quick. Even though the past couple months have been tough for my family and I, we are still strong and alive and that alone is something to be grateful for.
Jason, I will say a prayer for your friend's grandchildren. And here's wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas!
Jason,
The prayers are coming your friend's way. Give the kids an even bigger hug today. Merry Christmas.
Rich
Jason, I am HAPPY to add a prayer for your friend's children. What an awful thing to go through. It does put everything into perspective. I wish you all the best in 2010, and please post an update on the children.
Your thoughts are always a treasure to read. Thoughts and prayers go out to your friends family this season and please keep everyone updated, if you can. Blessings to you now and in 2010.
Jason:
PLEASE pass the word to you friend, that prayers for the speedy recovery of the grandchildren are in my thoughts tonight. I just saw this afternoon, my four grandchildren; and know where my head would be if in a similiar situation.
Have a safe and happy holiday season.
Jason, I hope that the kids are okay now. Just getting caught up on some posts so I'll be sure to add them to my prayers. Perhaps they are back home now, which would be great.
QUICK UPDATE: To those of you who were concerned and curious about my friend's grandchildren, I wanted to pass along the info that I have right now. His granddaughter, Brooke (4) is at home now and doing pretty well, although she may need rhinoplasty later. His grandson, Austin (14 months), is in worse condition. Both kids experienced facial/skull fractures from the accident, but his were far more serious. He's still in the hospital, and he is having longer periods of wakefulness, which is encouraging. He has a blood clot that is a concern. The clot did decrease very slightly in size yesterday, according to the doctors. Also, they mentioned that he laughed once, which made everyone's day. I am hoping to post specific details for fundraising for the mom and dad, who can't work right now and were living paycheck to paycheck before. The accident occurred when they were rear-ended by a large truck on the highway when traffic had come to a standstill. The front bucket seats in their vehicle apparently failed and came down on the heads of their children. Horrifying. My friend is Mike Price of MLBroadcast.com, and his wife is Laurie.
Jason ~ My prayers are for your friends and wishing you and your wonderful family a wonderful Holiday! Hold em tight!
Thanks for the update, Jason! I'm keeping them in my prayers as I know you are. Keep the updates coming.
Have a great Tuesday...
Jason- I will continue to pray for these children and their parents. I had a Christmas miracle happen to a friend in bad shape this year( a death sentence changed to a brain infection) and I believe the power of prayer can do anything! Merry Christmas my friend and a blessed New Year to you and yours!
Oh boy what a tough time. I was hoing to hear even better news, but at least it was a positive step forward for the kids and their family.
Here's hoping for a brighter start to the new year for your friends.
Jason - please keep us updated. Will add my prayers.
Jason, I hope that you are your family had a lovely holiday and that both of the little children are now home with their parents. Everyone's worst nightmare is to watch their children suffer. Wishing you and your loved ones the best that life has to offer in 2010.
Jason - May your New Year also be prosperous and successful!!
Susan - Thanks very much. Their grandson remains in the hospital (11 days now), although there have been some encouraging signs...a smile, one small laugh, etc. It still seems somewhat tenuous in his case, although he did get moved to a private room yesterday.
Jason,
I hope you had a great Christmas! Also thank you for the update! I will continue to pray as well...Christmas was only a couple of days ago! Happy New Year to you too! :-)
