The other day on our online radio show, Mike Mueller shared a site that I think it a lot of fun, so I wanted to share it with my readers here. ![]()
Have you tried Formspring.me yet?
In a nutshell, this site allows you to set up a page very quickly (and a corresponding widget, too, if you like) which allows people who see the page to ask you ANY question.
This may or may not have business value for me, but I like it nonetheless. Another feature which I appreciate is the fact that questions do not appear publicly unless I choose to answer them. Before I realized that, I figured it would take a very brave man or woman to open themselves up for this type of public inquiry.
So far, all of the questions have been pretty tame, mainly relating to blogging, social media, and the heartbreaking loss by the Dallas Cowboys this past week. I welcome variety and some new topics. You can view the link below to see the questions I've answered so far.
Feel free to visit my page and ask me a question. You don't even have to sign in - you can ask anonymously. I'll do my best to answer every single question that I receive, unless it's overtly offensive. :)
Here's my link if you're interested in asking me a question: http://formspring.me/jasoncrouch
If you enjoyed this post, why not connect with me elsewhere?
If you're looking for a home in the Austin area, you can visit my primary Austin real estate website at www.austintexashomes.com. If you're interested in social media training, visit 210 Consulting. Thanks!

I have not tried this yet but it has been on my list of things since the show the other day. I like it.
I am looking forward to checking this one out. Thanks for sharing this with us.
I have never heard of form spring. I have not been able to attend your radio show as Tuesdays are a luncheon meeting time for different groups that I'm in. I will try to take a few moments and check it out.
hmmmm very interesting. Not sure how I would use it yet but I am thinking.
Not only have I not tried this.....I've never heard of this.....can I say....YOU DA MAN? Very cool JC! I'll look into this.....
Hey Jason,
Just checked it out but decided against it after reading the TOS.
Looks cool Like some of the other comments trying to think how I would put it to good use.
Hi Jason... Interesting... this one has my mind thinking there has to be a good application for something that seems so fun.
Larry - Thanks, dude!
Herb - What bothered you in the TOS?
I think the widget could be used and tailored like this:
Ask Me Anything about Short Sales!
Ask Me Anything about Austin Real Estate!
:)
Thanks Jason, widgetized, I like it alot!
I think this might have more value as a page within a site rather than a standalone site. For example, a short sale agent could have a "Q&A" page on their site that uses FormSpring. Would be interesting to see if this could also be implemented as a custom tab in Facebook.
Jason, This sounds interesting. I will check it out. Thanks for telling us about it.
Jason - sounds interesting. Will check it out although not sure I will take it on. Too much other stuff to worry about and repsond to, unless you could tailor it so that the questions are focused.
Ah, I see your comment that you could do that. That gets me thinking.
Jeff
Jason, This is a cool tool, I think I like your widget idea, real well. I am going to think this through and see what it would be most useful for:)
Jeff - I think I was wrong - I thought the widget was something that could be edited easily, but it doesn't appear that way. Maybe a niche?
Now that sounds like fun -I'll have to give it a go. I like nothing better then answer questions - now that all my kids are gone and no one's asking me anything anymore, lol
Jeff - I figured out how to edit the widget - you have to edit the question on your profile, then whatever you have selected/typed there will show up automatically on the widget.
Thanks Jason, sounds like worth checking out.
Hey thanks for sharing this Jason, looking forward to trying it out but a little bit wary as well
Bill
Interesting. I followed the link and left something..not sure if it was a question. I think it will create the question in your mind like "What?"! Thanks.
Jason,
TOS said that they have the ability to modify of our responses given yet any response is totally our responsibility. SO if I tell someone not to jump off a cliff and they change it to jump off the cliff that is my responsibilty.
This is so cool Jason. I am going to call you Dear Abby or Dear Jason. I've bookmarked it.
I need to look this over. I can se the benifit of this. great idea.
Jason, I, too will be taking a bit of time to fool with it. I can definitely see how one could get some use out of it.
Formspring has a ring to it. Makes you think about how you would want to use it. Where have you placed it so far?
Now that is an interesting site. Thinking.....how it could be used.
I can see all the benifit of this
I'm going to check it out now! Thanks for the tip!
Sounds pretty interesting...I will have to check it out.
