Downtown Austin Condos - Austonian

The Austonian is going to be the tallest building in Austin upon completion, which is slated for 2009.  At 55 stories, it will soar high above the current tallest structure, which is the Frost Bank building at 33 stories.  Here is a projected photo of how this will look:

The location is at 2nd and Congress, in the heart of downtown and just blocks from the State Capitol building.  The Austonian will offer full 24-hour concierge services, secured access to parking, high-speed elevators, lobby-level retail, and more.

That looks like a really exciting project, Jason. Is there a trend in Austin towards residential development in the downtown area?

John - Yes, there is a huge trend in this direction.  I have actually lost count of the number of residential buildings under construction downtown, but it is at least a dozen.  Some of them are smaller projects, but there are several very large high rises as well.
