Pflugerville, Texas is Getting Two New Shopping Centers!

stone hill town center pflugerville txIn the upcoming months between now and the spring of 2009, Pflugerville will be adding two large shopping centers.  At the southwest corner of 130 and 45, Stone Hill Town Center will be opening with over 1 million square feet of shopping and restaurants (Home Depot opened in May in this location).

This area promises a Best Buy, Chili's, several retail clothing stores, a large Cinemark theater, and a 24-Hour Fitness.  If you would like to see the proposed layout, you can visit the developer's website and see the site plan here:

At 685 and Pfluger Lane, Pfluger Crossing is already open and expanding to 500,000 square feet.  Starbucks recently opened on the northern edge, and other stores there include Wal-Mart, Gamestop, Sprint, and Baskin Robbins.  The expansion will include a Radio Shack location facing Highway 685.

I saw a story on the news about these developments, and they mentioned that there are still approximately 44,000 residential lots to be had in the Pflugerville vicinity.  With that in mind, experts are anticipating that the easier access provided by the north-south toll road and westbound toll road will attract buyers from Manor and other small towns to the east.

Sounds like a promising development, for you.  I hope you get your fair share of the potential 44,000 new home buyers.

Jason, the developements like this always seem to spurn an area into a selling frenzy. Good luck on a lot of closings.

Hi Jason, I did not realize that Pflugerville was such a growing community. Then again I have not been to Texas, except for the airport.

Pflugerville. That name always gives me a chuckle. And it's nice to hear that you have communities where construction is still progressing. We have MANY that have been halted, not even half finished.

This is great from the point of view of growth, but call me old fashioned - these big shopping complexes are always the death of small family run businesses. I miss the "corner shop".

All right, so when can we go shopping?

Jason,

It looks as though Pflugerville is pflurring.  I remember when this town was nothing more than a whistle stop.  This is GOOD news for the local economy.

Great post of Pflugerville Jason!  Gotta know though, I drive through there all the time and each time I start wondering...who named it and why?
