Today, we took our kids along for a very cool experience. We had our first 3D ultrasound (see pictures below). It was a small splurge (around $100), but we hadn't ever had a chance to have one of these. It took around 20 minutes or so, and they gave us a CD with a bunch of pictures, as well as a DVD with video and some audio of the baby's heartbeat.
Our baby girl still appears to be very healthy. In fact, she looks huge to us! My wife's "tummy" is bigger than she has ever been at this stage in the pregnancy, which probably doesn't sound all that alarming until you realize that two of our babies were 9-6 and 9-9 (Aleah was our smallest, at a robust 8-1). Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if this is our first 10+ pound baby (hear that, Greg Nino?). Time will tell, I suppose.
Here's a picture that I took of Pam yesterday:

Needless to say, no one has any qualms about asking our due date anymore!
By the way, I don't want to come across as though I am asking for baby gifts, so just send money if you feel led to do so. :) I am kidding, of course. However, some of you did ask about baby "stuff". If you have any interest in this, we are registered at Target now, and it should be under my name and/or Pam's. Thanks!
Now, on to the cool baby pictures! I actually stole these from Pam's blog tonight. I'm sure she won't mind. ;)

She looks beautiful already! Everything is going well and will continue to do so. I just know it!
Mel - I think so, too! We are very excited to get a chance to meet her sometime soon!
That is pretty cool... my business partner took me along on one of her ultrasound visits... it is pretty amazing watching the development - especially if you are a guy like me who has no kids.
Hi Jason
Looks like the mother and the baby are doing just fine.
Good luck and success
Lou Ludwig
Awww! When we had our kids, that 3D thingy wasn't even in use over here in The States, and then it was SOOooo expensive, but we already had our kids when it came over here, so we never had it done.
But that is SOO KEWL!
Congrats.
Ryan - It is amazing no matter who you are. Frankly, it's one of the clearest ways that I can say with certainty that there is a God.
Jason, I am so looking forward to your new daughter's delivery. It is great you can post the ultrasound. Very cool.
Congrats Jason! Our new baby will be here late June. This is #5, and our last baby (a fellow Jason) was 9lb even.... but they have all gotten increasingly bigger with each delivery! I'm afraid of this baby, lol.
Your wife looks amazing and so does the ultrasound. She's cute in a very non-digital way :)
This looks really cool. I've never had a 3-D ultrasound myself I may be tempted to try this out!
Ohh, my! When I recognized the perfect little face in the pictures, my heart just skipped a beat. She's truly a miracle!
Wow.. those sure beat the 2d ones.. Amazing... Congratulations..
Wow...time sure flew! Beautiful wonderful miracle...almost here :)
Pam looks wonderful. And the ultra sound photos have sure come a long way in the past 20 plus years. Incredible.
Your little one is precious already...what a great smile!
Jason - aaaawwww isn't she incredible!!!!! ....the images are really clear too - how exciting to get a preview:)
Hey Jason,
Congrats to you and Pam! Are you SURE the due date is 4 weeks away??? I think you're probably going to have a new basketball player in your family. :)
Wow I've never seen anything like that - its amazing! As for Pam - she doesn't have an ounce of fat on her and it all in her tummy - from behind you wouldn't even know she was pregnant.....amazing - and I'm jealous! I looked like a beached whale when I was pregant! Its exciting to watching your journey -thanks for sharing!
Whoa, those 3D images are super cool! My "baby" is four going on five and we didn't have that kind of tech! Congrats on a beautiful baby girl!
Jason- Those photos are so amazing. Pam looks so wonderful and beautiful being pregnant. What a miracle in the making. May God bless you, Pam, your new baby girl and your children always. The photos were just coming out when I had Tristan but they were over $700. Now they are so much cheaper. When I had my first set of five they had those old fashioned ultrasounds. We have come a long way!
Thank you for sharing the pictures, Jason. They are awesome. Looks like you are blessed with another perfect baby.
Wow... is this what the ultrasound pictures look like now? A lot has changed in 10 years.
Her smile is contagious! Thanks for sharing your little miracle with us!
Wow Jason, that is really something. Cara is due 4-09 at 12:30!
Jason! She's amazing! The pics are so clear. She is alreading smiling for her photo shoot! Have you announced her name yet? Did my suggestion stick? I know whatever name you choose for her she will live up to it totally! Is she going to be daddies little melody? JC...
I know you love her so much already! Pam sure looks like she's ready! I can't wait for you all.
Hugs and Later,
Deb
Oh how I remember those days. My last one had a ultrasound 5 days before birth where we then found out it was a girl and not the boy they had told me 5 months earlier.
These pics are awesome, the baby is smiling for you and she has a dimple!
Jason,
How anyone can witness the whole process of birth and not believe in God and miracles is beyond me...!!! :) Thanks, Fran
Jason, awesome so glad you posted those here. It is a baby full of laughter, smiles, sighs. A personality already created in Gods' image.
Pam looks great.
Jason,
It is amazing how far technology has come. To think that they would even do a ultra sound unless there were problems back in the day.
Jason - cool, these are keepers, technology is terrific, something to bring out and show future fiances, much better than the old bare but on the rug shots.
Very cool Jason. As the mother of one 10 lb 5 oz child I feel for you Pam You look great. Remember trust your body and it will be OK! Can't wait for the after photos!
what a sweet smile... these new ultrasounds are so cool.
when my wife was preggers with our first... ultrasounds were new and experimental, and our health insurance wouldn't pay for them. But our doctor was part of a trial program that produced two (only two) ultrasound appointments for pregnant women. They didn't want to do more than two time, since they weren't sure if there were any long-term effects from the ultra sounds.
But our photos (polaroids, mind you) were nowhere near as cool, or details as yours. Very cool.
Jason ~ Only four weeks left - that seemed to go fast (okay, maybe not for Pam!). The 3-D is very cool! Pam looks great!
Jason - Awwww ! She is going to be a knock out ! So sorry I haven't been following lately, been so preoccupied with so many things. You have a beautiful family and congrats again on your new little one. Now....I have to go visit Target !
PS. What is the name and due date ? I still think Jacelyn ( since it's so close to her daddy )
Those are amazing! This is the first time I've seen this kind of ultra sound. My daughter-in-law is about 23 weeks, I will pass this on to her so she can see them. She had a traditional one so far and it was thrilling to see that. Thanks for sharing!
Wow Jason! Pam looks great! A little girl is always a blessing - Bruce and I have 4 but they're not little any more! That's not to say that little boys aren't special. We wouldn't give anything for our grandsons! Good luck and God's blessings to you both and to your family.
Mary
Jason - Those 3D ultra sound photos are amazing. Sometimes, I see advances in technology like that and just stop dead in my tracks for a few minutes. Are you kidding me? 3D photos of a baby inside your wife? Its just so incredible. I'm sure you were thrilled to see them.
awwwww. she is an angel! That is so amazing to see. What a miracle and how exciting for you both to know it is just a matter of a few weeks and your liitle blessing will be in your arms. Thanks for sharing such a beautiful part of your life.
Pics like that were not around 3 years ago when our son was born. That is pretty amazing. Way to go stud!
What a perfect little cherub. Oh my, 10+ pounds. Congratulations.
Oh beautiful. Technology is so great these days to be able to bring you such cool "interior" pics of your baby!
Incredible photos! And it is so evident how happy she is. What a lucky little girl to be coming into your family.
Wow those are great photos! Isn't she sweet! I know you are excited about this beautiful baby girl. She will be be due around the date of my almost one-year-old granddaughter and son (yes, they have the exact same birthday). Congrads to you!
Wow, you are going to make one great papa. Not only do you carry the photos in your wallet -- you actually send them around the WWW. Best wishes in the days ahead for both mama and the baby:-)
Janson, whoo! That is totally amazing! Can't wait to see your baby girl!
Jason,
Wow! It is really a miracle. I agree with Fran quotes. Children are such a blessing and what a wonderful addition to your family. It won't be long!!
I forgot to mention that your wife looks AMAZING! Wish I looked that good preggers!
Those 3D pictures are so neat Jason! And your wife looks great! Can't wait to see pictures when your little one is born!
Have a great day,
Anne Rains
Jason - It feels as if it was yesterday when you first blogged about the pregnancy. I can't believe how all this time have passed and we only have 4 more weeks left. You'll be busy again I'm sure. Good luck and we'll hear about the baby again soon.
Thank you for sharing! These are amazing. Gives me chills to look at. Technology is mind blowing. Well worth the extra $$ for this incredible keep sake.
Jason, Those pictures just gave me goose bumps. How amazing seeing baby Crouch up close and personal. Congratulations, again. I'm sure you are counting down the days now! Keep us posted :)
AWESOME!
Jason - Ultrasounds nowadays are sooo cool! By the way, tell your wife that she looks great! :)
Sweet ! Wow has technology just come a long way baby! Sue Pam looks marvelous! Thanks for sharing. Update: What was I thinking, had an agent on the brain to call name Sue? It happens when you are out of the baby making stage and you have long quiet nights to fry your brain on the internet at night. Forgive me Pam!
Candi! Long time no see! Who is Sue, by the way? ;) Sorry - couldn't help myself.
Is that your fantasy girl? Hell I dunno!!
I was checking on ya to see if you remember your wifes name? I dunno..
Oh I know, I was wondering if my comments ever got read! I've been absent as of late and wanted to see if I have not been forgotten? Dunno. LOL

Candi - No big deal - I just had to give you a hard time about it. I hope you're doing well - we should talk again sometime when you have a moment.
Congratulations Jason and Pam!!!! This is such amazing technology - you got to see your baby in the secret place - wow. Really divine and a gift.
